I have to show you.

Well I just have to share this piece that I did custom for a friend I work with. This little bute is sterling silver with black anodized aluminum. This took forever! The black rings are 1/8" 20g.

I am soooo glad that she loved it!! This was a lot of work but I think it was definitely worth it. I would love to you what you think!

Happy New Year !!

Well here we are, happy 2009! It was a really busy year and things don't seem to be slowing down. Christmas was very busy, I took a little break and now I'm back to creating, as well as being a mom and wife too of course.

In the last few weeks before Christmas I saw my first sale on my Etsy site. Yay!! Then a week after, another sale, then another.... things are finally picking up a bit (thank goodness because I was starting to get a little discouraged, lol).

So there are new items in my Etsy store (click on any of the items on the right and it will take you right there or click here). A few are brand new patterns I had never tried before. I think the one I like the most so far is the Sleek Cuff designed by Rebecca at The Blue Buddah. This bracelet is made out of hundreds of aluminum rings and is SO comfortable to wear! Tell me what you think.

I also have to mention that Sharon of Magnolia Blossom Art is running a draw for a piece of my jewelry. Visit her blog at www.magnoliablossomart.blogspot.com for all the details. Also visit her shop at www.magnoliablossomart.etsy.com. She has BEAUTIFUL bags as well as other handmade items. Thanks again Sharon for doing this!!

Well thats it for me for now, a nice warm blanket and a movie are calling my name!

Things are moving along again

Well I thought I fell of the face of the earth for a while but I'm back. I have been so busy lately I don't know which way is up. I work for the Federal Government and I am the vice president of our local union. I was at a conference in my own home town (beautiful Victoria BC) and got to stay in a swanky hotel. While I was there, I actually managed to get a few custom pieces done. Two down and 11 more to go!! (Gotta love those girls at work!) And speaking of sales, I FINALLY got my first sale on ETSY!!! I am so thrilled! My black and aluminum byzantine bracelet will be on its way to London England tomorrow. I just amazes me that someone that far away is looking at my web site.

So speaking of jewelry, I tried using copper for the first time and this is the newest piece that I have done. I think it turned out alright. I really like working with copper, it seems to close so easily. I've got big plans for copper, so I'll post more pictures when I have a chance to 'play around' with my rings.

Well I need to get back to work and start cranking out my pieces that people are waiting for but before I go, I just really wanted to urge the people in the states to make sure they get out there and vote in November. This year Canada had an all time low voter turnout with only 58% of eligible voters making the effort to go to the polls. Very sad really. Remember.... Canada cares who you vote for your president cause it affects us too!

Yee Haw!!

Ok, so now I have this fancy smancy new banner that my hubby's buddy Jason did especially for me. So what do you think? I think its pretty fantastic! So that is yet another hurdle to getting my little business up and running. Now if I could only get some sales on my Etsy.com site. That would be marvellous (lol). I also managed to get my slide show at www.photobucket.com/dragonsfirechainmaille to show up at the bottom of this blog. Yet another triumph for today. And last but not least I finally finished my new bracelet, take a peek:

I am soooo proud of this one. It is my first shot at this and let me tell you it took me forever. Well not forever but on and off for two days. It sure was a lot of work, but seeing the finished product I will surely make more.

So I think I'm getting the hang of this blog thing. I'm hoping to post more often. I just finished a bunch of new pieces of jewelry so I'm off to get them up on www.dragonsfire.etsy.com. Come back soon and remember to tell your friends all about me!

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Well I'm back from camping and I got a lot done while I was gone. (Sitting at my picnic table in the sunshine). Trouble is, most of it doesn't make it to my web site because the girls at work keep buying it! Good for me, bad for my web site. I did get to play around with some silver and made a byzantine bracelet with a matching pair of earrings and another really nice pair of silver earrings. I'm hoping to have pictures up on here and my web site soon.

I have to say a huge thank you to the people I have met so far in the Chainmaillers Guild (see my links on the right hand side of this page). I have received encouraging posts from many people. It means a great deal to me to hear nice things when getting the web site up and running has been a little slow going. Please take the time to visit their blog and web site!!

Well that's it for me for now, I have to get the boys lunch's ready for school tomorrow.

Thanks for reading! I'll talk to you again soon!!

SUNDAY AUGUST 24, 20008

Ok, so this is my first blog ever and I have no clue what I am doing so bare with me!! I have already been sitting here at my computer for two hours trying to get this up and running and looking nice. So for starters here is a little bit about me:

I'm a busy mom (34 years young) of two very active little boys (6 and 10), a wife of 10 years, and I have a full time job.

In my spare time (ya thats funny) at home and when camping, I find it very relaxing to work on my chainmaille. I have taught myself this new form of jewelry making and have only been creating for about a month or so. (Although I have a long history of other jewelry making and crafts, just ask my very patient husband).

So thats it for me for now, I'm off to figure this thing out, thanks for your patience and I'll be talking to you soon!

Feel free to check out my web site at www.dragonsfire.etsy.com.
